Study on the Priority and Burst Segmentation Based Optical Buffering for OBS Networks

Abstract
In order to improve the QoS of OBS networks and reduce the burst loss rate, in this paper, we study the optical buffering schemes based on priority and burst segmentation in OBS networks, and propose an improved priority and burst segmentation based optical buffering scheme. In the proposed scheme, other idle channels and FDLs are considered, and the remaining time of idle channel is used for the judgement of the FDL delay time, which is effective for the judgement of the burst dropping or not. So it ensures the low packet loss rate, guarantees the QoS of OBS and improves overall network performance.关键词
