Abstract
The status of water resource and utilization in Zhenjiang city and the major problems in the construction of a water-saving society are analyzed. Experiences and achievements in water saving, including organization by the city government, system construction, propaganda of water saving, network establishment, fulfillment of responsibilities , increase of investment, innovation of water saving technology, maintenance of water saving facilities, and set-up of good examples. These measures are aimed at exploiting, protecting and saving water resources and increasing the comprehensive profits. The development themes for water resource of Zhenjiang city in the 12th Five-Year Plan are also expounded as increase water sources and reduce consumption, prevent water pollution, and prioritize water saving. Finally, approaches of building a water saving society are put forward: rational exploitation, o-verall protection, optimization of resource allocation, and efficient utilization.关键词
