Structure and Mechanical Properties of Soybean Globulin Biodegradable Materials in Different Ratio

Abstract
The effect of different ratios of 11S globulin and 7S globulin on mechanical properties of biodegradable soybean protein materials was determined. The compositions and microstructures of the materials were characterized using sodium dodecyi sulfate-polyacrylamide gel eletrophoresis ( SDS-PAGE ) and scanning electron microscopy ( SEM ) respectively. The results showed that the tensile strength of the material was increased at first and then decreased, and elongation showed the opposite tendency with increasing 11S/7S ratio. When the ratio of US globulin and 7S globulin was 1.0,the material had the maximum tensile strength. The microstructure of the material is a reflection of the mechanical properties, the denser and more uniform the microstructure be, the higher mechanical properties of materials be. Based on comprehensive investigation on property testing and structure characterization of materials, when the soybean protein materials were formed, the cross-linking reactions happened between 7S globulin and 11S globulin.关键词
