Influences of DC Active Power Modulation on Transient Stability of Sichuan Power Grid

Abstract
Based on Fourier spectral analysis, a method to estimate parameters of DC active power modulator is proposed; the selection of input signal source for DC active power modulator in Sichuan power grid is researched, and the influences of DC active power modulation on transient stability of Sichuan power grid are analyzed. Simulation results show that the proposed method to estimate controller parameters and the method to select modulation signal are effective and feasible, and the obtained modulator parameters are more effective than the parameters from engineering experiences, in addition, it is also proved that the capability of Sichuan power grid to withstand severe fault can be evidently improved by DC active power modulation. Through simulation, a DC active power modulation strategy table under the condition of fault occurred in AC/DC power outwards transmission channels is attained and the modulation strategy table is available for reference to the improvement of transient stability of Sichuan power grid.关键词
