Non-periodic Firing Test Method for HVDC Thyristor Valve

Abstract
The single-valve non-periodic firing test is one of the most difficult high-voltage direct current(HVDC) valve dielectric type tests.Analyzing actual valve stress and designing test circuit topology,we proposed a test circuit which is qualified for the valves energized by power-frequency voltage according to IEC 60700-1.A valve nonperiodic firing test for±660kV Ningdong-Shandong HVDC project was performed by using the proposed circuit.With a test with voltage peak of 685kV,current peak of 8.1kA,and maximum current variation ratio of 1.4kA/ μs,the test perfectly reproduces the actual non-periodic firing stresses.Test results show that the tested valves can withstand the specified stresses.It can be concluded that the test circuit is reasonably designed to accurately represent the first 10μs stresses after valve conduction,and achieves sequential coordination onμs level of the test stresses.关键词
