Abstract
Objectives To explore the detection of antigens and antibodies of herpes simplex virus in patients with suspected genital herpes ( GH ).Methods HSV-2 antigens were detected in 1101 patients with suspected GH who visited our sexually transmitted disease clinic from April 2008 to March 2012; HSV-2 IgM and HSV-2 IgG antibodies were also detected in 336 of the patients by using serological tests.The test results and clinical data were analyzed statistically.Results 551 of the 1101 patients were HSV-2 DNA positive ( 52.33％ male and 40.99％ female ),with a total positive rate of 50.05％ the positive rate differed statistically between male and female ( P＜ 0.01 ).The detection rate of HSV-2 DNA differed significantly among different ways to obtain specimens,in which swabs for blister fluid was the highest ( 57.05％ ),the highest of all,followed by penile swab test ( 56.25％ ) and foreskin swab test ( 46.62％ ).The detection rate of HSV-2 antigens was lowest in patients aged 20 to 29; the positive rates were greater than 50％ in other age groups,and the rate was up to 56.21％ in those older than 50.Of 336 patients receiving both HSV-2 DNA test and HSV-2 IgM and HSV-2 IgG serum antibodies tests,33 were HSV-2 IgM antibodies positive,with a positive rate of 9.82％; 149 were HSV-2IgG antibodies positive,with a rate of 44.35％.At least one antibody test was positive in 104 of the 155 HSV-2 DNA positive patients and at least one antibody test was positive in 61 of the 181 HSV-2 DNA negative patients.Conclusions For patients with suspected genital herpes,detection of HSV-2 antigen tests combined with HSV-2 IgM and HSV-2 IgG serum antibody tests is more helpful in the clinical diagnosis of genital herpes.We should pay more attention to the prevention and control of senile genital herpes.关键词
