Abstract
TiO2 aerogels were produced by sol-gel process with ambient pressure drying using titanate tetrabutoxide as the raw material. Ethanol, isopropanol and tertiary butanol were selected as the ageing solvents. The structural properties of aerogel samples were characterized by means of SEM, BET and XRD. The results indicated that the TiO2 aerogel from ethanol as the ageing solvent has optimum microstructure and properties with bulk densitiy of 0. 16 g·cm-1 , specific surface area of 554. 6 m2 ·g-1 , average pore size of 19. 37 nm. After calcined at 850 ℃ in air for 2 h, the sample transformed from amorphous state to anatase-type crystal with specific surface area of 179. 8 m·g and average pore size of 20. 97 nm. While the TiO2 aerogel from ethanol has better photocatalytic activity based on photocatalytic degradation of methyl orange.关键词
