Abstract
Monodispersed spherical silica nanoparticles have been prepared using ammonia as a catalyst by hydrolysis of tetraethoxy silane (TEOS) in alcohol-water mixed solvents. Orthogonal experiment was conducted and the effect of reactant concentration on the particle sizes of silica nanoparticles was investigated using statistical method. The results show that with a constant reaction temperature (30℃) and constant amount of ethanol ( 100 mL) , the effect of parameters on the particle sizes of silica nanoparticles was decreased in the following order: the amount of ammonia, that of TEOS, that of water; the increase in the amount of ammonia, TEOS, and water in the certain range of concentration all resulted in larger silica particles.关键词
