摘要

Abstract

Sulfur and dicumyl peroxide were two kinds of commonly used crosslinking agent. In this paper, the mechanism of these crosslinking of ENB-EPDM rubber was reviewed. The study results show that the attachement of the sulfur bridge occurs only at two allylic position C-3 and C-9 of the third monomer in the sulfur crosslinking system, but in the dicumyl peroxide crosslinking system,the crosslink points mainly lied on tertiary carbon of EPDM backbone and C-3 and C-9 of the third monomer. The mechanism of crosslinking of ENB-EPDM rubber was the foundation of the successful development of solid rocket motor insulation with high performance, but for the existence of such factors as rubber ingredients and external environment, it would produce a series of competitive reactions in the actual crosslinking process of ENB-EPDM insulation. So, the factors which influence the crosslinking of ENB-EPDM insulation, influence degree and influence mechanism were the focus in the future study.
