Abstract
Objective To investigate the antioxidant effect of apple polyphenols extract (APE) in Triton WR-1339-induced hyperlipidemic mouse model. Methods NIH mice received oral administration of different dosages of APE for 7 consecutive days. To establish hyperlipidemia mouse model, mice were injected through tail vein with Triton WR-1339 (300 mg · kg-1) on the 6th day. After 18 h,sera from all the mice were collected for measurement of total cholesterol (TC) and triglyceride (TG). In addition,the levels of malondialdehyde ( MDA ) and NO, and activities of total superoxide dismutase ( SOD ) and glutathione peroxidase (GPx) were also measured. Results Oral administration of APE at the dosage of 200 or 400 mg · kg reduced the level of MDA, but increased the level of NO, as well as the activities of SOD and GPx in serum of hyperlipidemic mice. Conclusion Treatment with APE could enhance the antioxidant ability in Triton WR-1339-induced hyperlipidemic mice.关键词
