摘要

Abstract

This research aimed to study the relationship between quality changes, characteristics, and morphological damage of sugarcane under light frost condition in order to provide theoretical references for breeding cold ?tolerance sugarcane varieties. [ Method ]The cold梚ntolerant sugarcane variety ROC22, the mainly梒ultivated sugorcane variety in China, along with 19 other new sugarcane varieties bred by domestic sugarcane breeding institutions, were tested and observed in frosty areas of Yanshan, Guilin City of Guangxi. [Result ]The results showed that with light frost occurrence, the morphological traits of sugarcane showed only slight damage; however, the quality traits of sugarcane were affected significantly when the sucrose content and theoretical recoverable sugar (TRS) rate decreased 9.09 and 10.31%, respectively, with two decreasing points. Further analysis from the research results indicated that there was no correlation between the morphological trait damages and cane quality. [ Conclusion ] Under light frost condition, the best time frame for analyzing the effect of cold tolerance on TRS rate was from the second week to the fourth week based on morphological evaluation.
