Abstract

An exploration in the study of direction-of-arrival (DOA) and an estimation of a uniform circular acoustic vector-sensor array ( UCAVSA) were reviewed for continued studies on the acoustic vector-sensor ( AVS) in the manifold of uniform circular array. The sound field of receiver has been decomposed into an orthogonal set pf phase modals based on the implementation from the method of sound field decomposition. Construct a pretreatment matrix of sound pressure, radial and tangential vibration speeds and particle velocity field, and use it to transform the signal from circular vector-sensor array element domain to phase modal domain. In phase modal domain a. DOA estimation method for a Circular Vector-Sensor Array is proposed. Simulation and experimental results indicate the UCAVSA can combine the anti -noise performance of the vector-sensor with spatial resolution performance of array system through the modal vector-sensor array signal processing algorithms. The results also indicate the UCAVSA has distinct advantages over the same manifold of traditional uniform circular pressure-sensor array (UCPSA) in modal space.
