摘要

Abstract

The flow characteristics of impinging stream from an impinging stream reactor with 160 L effective capacity were studied. With water as medium and potassium chloride saturated solution as tracer, the influences of impinging velocity and nozzle distance on the concentration of tracer were measured by conductive method. The mean residence time distribution was simulated by a tanks-in-series model for calculating the exit concentration of the impinging area in the reactor. The calculated results show that the model can finely describe the residence time distribution and the exit concentration very well. The experimental results indicate that the number of tanks and the mean residence time decrease with the decrease of the nozzle distance, increase with the increase of impinging velocity. The flow in the reactor is complete mixed flow when impinging velocity is 2. 0 m/s. The macro-mixing process in the reactor is improved obviously when the impinging velocity is increased.
