摘要

Abstract

This paper analyzes the effect of oceanic internal waves on the accuracy of multibeam echosounding through two mechanisms, and indicates that different angle between the survey line and the direction of internal wave propagation result in different influence on multibeam echosounding. We can obtain the basic characteristics of the internal waves, such as the size, the wavelength and the direction of movement by analyzing the multibeam data. Also, we can get a preliminary understanding of the internal waves' impact on the multibeam data,the ship track lines and the vessel velocity. The result of this study can be used to guide how to deal with internal waves in field surveys, and carry on further studying on internal waves by multibeam sounding system.
