Mechanical Behavior of PBX Based on SCRAM Model

Abstract
The differential equations of Visco-SCRAM model were simplified into incremental form in the condition of uniaxial stress. It was employed to simulate the mechanical behavior of PBX under uniaxial tension and compression at different strain rates. The corresponding physical processes were analyzed in terms of the average meso-crack radius. The effect of viscosity on the mechanical behavior of PBX was discussed. The results show that Visco-SCRAM model is able to predict the different behaviors respectively under tension and compression and the dependence of strain rate of both strength and modulus of PBX. At the peak stress, the average meso-crack radius rises as strain rate increasing, and it is significantly less under tension than compression loading at the same strain rate. It was shown that compression modulus and strength increase and the failure strain decrease resulted from the reduction of viscosity within a certain range.关键词
