Analysis on similarity of growth characteristics of adolescents in 24 minorties in China
摘要
Abstract
Objective:To analyze the characteristics of the growth and development of adolescents in 24 minorities of China, therefore, to explore the interrelationships and similarities in growth characteristics in these minorities, and to provide scientific references for national origin, growth assessment and health interventions. Methods:Data of body height, chest circumference, body weight and sum of upper-arm skinfold thickness and scapular skinfold thickness in these adolescents were collected from the literature, and then, was submitted to clustering analysis. Results:The boys were classified into three categories, and girls were classified into four categories. Statistical differences in growth and development were found among different populations. Conclusion:These findings suggest that the development of adolescents in 24 minorities be similar. And, clustering results are related to ethnic origin, geographic location and nutrition. The health interventions should be strengthened to improve the growth of minority adolescents.关键词
