猕猴跖骨性别逐步判别分析
Sex assessment for metatarsals of Macaca mulatta by the stepwise discriminat analysis

Abstract
Objective: To establish discriminant function equations used to determine the sex based on several metatarsal variables in adult Macaca mulatta. Methods: Nine morphological variables of the metatarsal bone were detected from 37 adult skeleton of Macaca mulatta to establish discriminant function by SPSS 19. 0. Results: The results indicated that length of the metatarsals was a good indicator of sexual assessment. For the discriminant functions derived for five metatarsals, accuracy of sex determination ranged from 85. 3% to 94. 6% by means of enter independents together method, and ranged from 82. 4% to 91. 2% with stepwise method. Maximum length of the metatarsal was the first variable selected by the stepwise a-nalysis of all measurements. It was difficult to determine their sex differences between the left and right sides with the functions derived in this study. Conclusions-. The sex of Macaca mulutta can be identified by adopting discriminant functions based on morphology of each metatarsal bone, and has a significant valuation both in theory and application in primates.关键词
