Abstract
Objective To compare the clinical efficacy of tissue — selecting therapy (TST) and procedure for prolapse and hemorrhoids (PPH), milligan - morgan(MM) in the treatment of hemorrhoids by prospective control research. Methods Sixty patients with internal hemorrhoids or mixed hemorrhoid in our hospital were randomly divided into the TST group( group A, n =- 20), PPH group (group B, n =20) and M — M group (group C, n — 20). The three groups were compared with regards to efficacy,mean hospitalization duration, surgery duration, amount of intra — operative bleeding, postoperative complications, recurrence and satisfactoriness of patients. Results After treatment, three groups showed no statistically significant difference. Group A was obviously better than group C in terms of mean hospitalization duration, surgery duration, amount of intra — operative bleeding, VAS score of postoperative pain and edema (P< 0. 05), which was statistically significant. Group A was obviously better than group B in terms of amount of intra — operative bleeding, VAS score of postoperative pain, and anal bulge score (P<0. 05). Three groups were given six months follow - up, and three patients relapsed in group A and there was no recurrence in groups B and C. One patient in group B was found with stomal stricture. There were nonevent postoperative complications in terms of postoperative infections, anal incontinence, rectovaginal fistula. Conclusion Tissue — selecting therapy has many advantages, such as safety, effectiveness, less trauma, a quick recovery, and a lower incidence of complications. Thus it is worthy of wider application.
