Abstract
Objection To investigate the incidence of cardiopulmonary complications of chest tumor patients over 70 after thoracotomy and its preventive measures. Methods The clinical data of chest tumor patients over 70 after thoracotomy between January 2000 to December 2010 were retrospectively reviewed. The cardiopulmonary complications, preventive measures in the pre-operative and postoperative treatment countermeasures were analyzed and summarized. Results A-mong 312 cases, postoperative circulatory system complications occurred in 89 cases (28. 5% ), respiratory complications occurred in 63 cases (20. 2% ), postoperative respiratory failure in 5 cases (1. 6% ), and 2 patients died (0. 64% ). Conclusion The incidence of cardiopulmonary complications of chest tumor patients over 70 after thoracotomy is higher. But if we know the thoracotomy cardiopulmonary indications, select the appropriate surgical approach, and deal with the prevention of preoperative and postoperative complications, the vast majority of elderly patients may tolerate surgical operation and successfully go through the operative period.
