摘要

Abstract

This paper present work proposes a digital detection approach and system of welding arc swing frequency based on a single-chip microprocessor. A stepping motor runs at repeatedly forward and reverse rotation to swing welding arc at the same frequency as that of the motor rotation. In this system, a photoelectric switch is utilized for transforming the rotation rate of stepping motor into an electrical pulsed signal, and then PIC microprocessor is used to measure the period of this low frequency signal in real time and to calculate arc swing frequency finally for digital display. The result shows that the system operates smoothly, its detection precision is high and it is easy to interface it with digital welding equipments, thus it is of great value to engineering.
