摘要

Abstract

A numerical simulation is presented to investigate the performance and the flow field of a centrifugal compressor with a radial and an axial inlet chamber respectively, in order to study the effect of the radial inlet chamber. Results indicate: (1) the non - uniform flow field of the impeller inlet is mainly caused by the radial inlet chamber, and the stage efficient shows 3% reduction in the designed operating point compared to the axial inlet chamber; ( 2 ) of the radial inlet chamber, different channel of the impeller bears different attack angle, while of the axial inlet chamber, the attach angle of each channel is almost the same due to circumferential periodicity; the averaged attack angle is 1.4smaller than the axial in-taking compressor, meanwhile, the impeller has a negative influence on the flow field inside the radial inlet chamber, it aggravates the non-uniformity of the flow field.
