摘要

Abstract

Decorative wood-based panels,overlayed with metal foil,have become more popular in China due to their appearance and low cost. The authors sought to improve the panel's durability by modifying regular phenol-formaldehyde resin by mixing it with thermoplastic resins and coupling agents to improve the bonding performance between aluminum foil and MDF panels. The results showed that modified phenol-formaldehyde resin improved surface bonding strength and reduced water soakage. Although the modified resin reduced the mechanical properties, they still met the requirement of industry standard LY/T 1983-2011.
