Abstract
An implementation method of large-format framing image tube is proposed. An electrostatic focusing image tube with large input photocathode and small output image is designed. Coupling with common small-format microchannel plate (MCP) gated framing unit, image gating and enhancement can be realized. Compared to the tube with large-format MCP, this kind of framing tube avoids the high manufacturing cost of lager-format MCP and overcomes the transmission voltage loss and gain uniformity caused by long micro strips. The framing image tube has an effective input working diameter of 100 mm, an output image diameter of 40 mm, and a magnification of 0. 4. The centre spatial resolution is 14. 4 lp/mm, the marginal spatial resolution is 11. 2 lp/mm, and the geometric distortion is less than 15%. The framing characteristic is determined by the MCP framing unit. This method is an effective way for expanding the work area of framing image tubes.关键词
