Abstract

Take Al-TiO2-Fe-Fe2O3-MnO2-sucrose as reactive system, in O2 atmosphere, a new type microwave absorbing material of hollow multiphase ceramic micro-spheres was prepared by self-reactive quenching technology. The morphology, hollow structure and phase compositions were characterized by SEM, XRD and EDS. The results show that the system possesses high sphere formation rate, the quenching products are hollow structure and particle size is uniform between 30 |jun and 60 μm. The phase compositions are nano-multiphase structure including Fe3O4, Mn2AlO4, Mn3O4, (Fe2.5Ti0.5)O4 and Al2O3. The lowest reflectivity of hollow multiphase ceramic micro-spheres is -17.6 dB. The frequency bands of less than - 10 dB are - 11— 13.9 Hz. The essential reasons of hollow multiphase ceramic micro-spheres with better mi-crowave absorbing potential are nano-multiphase structure with magnetism and electricity and special hol-low structure.
