ISOLATION AND IDENTIFICATION OF A VIRULENT STRAIN FROM GOOSE PASTEURELLA MULTOCIDA

摘要

Abstract

This study was conducted to confirm the pathogen of goose disease in as area of Shandong Province. A strain of goose Pasteurella multocida isola ted and purified from the livers, hearts of the sick breeding geese in an area of Shandong Province based on its morphological and culturd characteristics, biochemical test, PCR and Pathogenicity test and so on. Pathogenicity test showed that the median lethal dose was 10-4.5 CFU/mL of eleven day -old healthy ducklings after being were injected with the ten times diluted bacteria(1. 2 × 109 CFU/mL). The pathological changes of the dead ducklings were similar to that of sick geese, and the strain which had the same morphological characteristics with Pasteurella multocida was reisolated. Histopathological changes were characterized by breaking and of intestinal villus in the duodenum, fatty degeneration in the liver cell and break age of cardiac muscle fibers. Susceptibility test displayed that the strain was sensitive to ceftriaxone, amoxicillin, ampicillin, ofloxacin, and so on. The pathogen of goose disease was Pasteurella multocida anatis isolate in an area of Shandong Province. This provided scientific theory for diagnosing and preventing avian Pasteurella multo cida.
