摘要

Abstract

Objcctivc:To investigate the effects of sodium salicylate on FFAs-induccd rats and on oxidative stress in pancreas tissues. Methods: Intraiipid (IH), Sodium Salicylate + Intraiipid (SI), and saline (SAL) were intravenously infused for 48h in rats. The maiondiaidchydc (MDA) content, Supcroxidc Dismutasc (SOD) activity and the expression of duodenal homcobox-1 (PDX-1) mRNA in pancreas were examined. Results: Compared with SAL group, there was elevated 1. 6 times of MDA/SOD in pancreas tissues in rats with IH, the ratio decreased 30% in SI group. Infusion of IH markedly decreased the express of PDX-lmRNA, which were obviously prevented by salicylate co-infusion. Conclusion: This study provides preliminary assessments of efficacy of sodium salicylate as a new treatment for FFAs-induccd β cell dysfunction. The effect of decreasing β cell apoptosis by salicylate in part may be secondary to reduce the oxidative stress in pancreas.
