摘要

Abstract

The shortage of the world's fossil fuel and many environmental issues has led to the research and application of biodiesel, which is an environmentally friendly and renewable energy resource. The theoretical study on the synthesis of biodiesel by transesterification has become a research hotspot in the field. In this paper, we mainly reviewed the progress in the theoretical study on the reaction mechanism of the transesterification by means of quantum chemistry calculations and discussed the effects of different active centers on the catalysts on the reactions mechanism. In addition, the application of the theoretical study to the biodiesel production in future was also explained.
