Abstract
Objective To study the expression of selenoprotein P in pancreatic carcinoma tissues and its clinical significance. Methods Thirty-six patients with pancreatic cancer were studied and their pancreatic tissues were gotten during the operation. The expression of selenoprotein P is compared between tumor tissues and adjacent normal pancreatic tissues with immunohistochemisty. Results Selenoprotein P was expressed in 55.6% of pancreatic carcinoma, which was lower than that in adjacent normal pancreatic tissues (86.1%, P＜0.05). The selenoprotein P expressed in tissues of high and moderate differentiation carcinoma was 76.2%, however the selenoprotein P expressed in tissues of low differentiation carcinoma was 53.3% (P＞0.05). The expression of selenoprotein P in TNM stage I and II tumors was 60.9%, and 53.8% in stage Ⅲ tumors (P＞0.05). Conclusions The expression level of selenoprotein P in pancreatic carcinoma tissues is lower than that in adjacent normal tissues. No correlation was found between expression of selenoprotein P with tissue differentiation or TNM stage of pancreatic carcinoma.关键词
