Abstract
Objective To detect the expression of receptor binding cancer antigen expressed on SiSo cells (RCAS1) and Fas protein in human papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) and their significance. Methods SP immunohistochemistry was used to detect the expression of Fas protein and RCAS1 in 40 specimens of PTC and 40 specimens of paraneoplastic tissues and 20 specimens of thyroid nodular goiter. The relationship between their expression and clinicopathological features of PTC was analyzed. Results The positive expression of Fas was much lower in PTC than in paraneoplastic tissues and throid nodular goiter (P<0.001), whereas the positive expression of RCAS1 was much higher in PTC than in paraneoplastic tissues and thyroid nodular goiter (P<0. 001). The expression of Fas in PTC was closely associated with lymph node metastasis and clinical grade (P<0. 05); the expression of RCAS1 in PTC was closely associated with lymph node metastasis (P<0.05), but not with clinical grade (P>0.05). Conclusion Expression of Fas protein and RCAS1 may be closely related to PTC. The combined detection of Fas and RCAS1 has significance in guiding clinical diagnosis and provides experimental basis for further immunological treatment.关键词
