Abstract

In order to solve the problem of extremely low radiating efficiency for SLF radio signal, the grounded antenna is used to radiate SLF signal. Because the grounded antenna has the directivity of radiation, the realibility of communication can not be guaranteed when a set of grounded antennas is used for communication between underwater mobile platforms in different waters. Therefore, a method of omni-directional radiation of SLF signal is presented. According to this method, two sets of grounded antennas which are orthogonal are built to forma SLF antenna array. After that, by controlling the phase difference of the input current of two antennas accurately to make the synthetic electric field radiaded by the antenna array in all horizontal directions to be equal and uniform, so that the SLF signal omni-directional radiation is realized. This method can significantly improved the reliability of SLF communication, is suitable for SLF communication to underwater mobile platform. Among all the existing design schemes of SLF transmitting antennas, the antenna array that is built by this method has the smallest size and the highest efficiency. It is simple and easy to realize SLF signal omni-directional radiation.
