Abstract

The experiment studies the effect on germination of Chinese cabbage seeds soaking with different concentrations of fermented water hyacinth sap. The result shows that 5% bio-slurry hastens germination of Chinese cabbage seeds to get the highest germination potential and the highest germination rate, while 100% bio-slurry conspicuously inhibits seed germination. There are significant differences (P<0. 05) in root length, stem length, stem diameter, leaf length, leaf width and single seedlings weight between control group and experiment group through one-way analysis of variance. And it means bio-slurry had an obvious effect on the growing indicators of Chinese cabbage buds. Furthermore, different concentrations of bio-slurry have different influences on Chinese cabbage buds' growth indicators through multiple comparisons. Among them, 5% bio-slurry has the most important impact on plant seedling weight, which can improve germination rate by 88. 9%, compared with CK. So 5% is the optimum concentration for germination of Chinese cabbage seeds.
