Abstract

Objective To investigate the correlation between the expression level of thymic stromal lymphopoietin ( TSLP) of human thymus tissue and the CD4 + CD25 + Foxp3 + Treg cells in peripheral blood mononuclear cells. Methods The CD4+ CD25 + Foxp3 + Treg cell was tested by flow cytometry from peripheral blood mononuclear cell in 23 patients with congenital heart disease. The expression of TSLP in thymus gland was determined with immunohistochemical staining. The correlation between TSLP expression and CD4 + CD25 + Foxp3 + Treg cell was analyzed by logistic regression. Results The ratio of CD4 + CD25 + Foxp3 + Treg / CD4 + T cell was (5. 73 ± 0. 56) % in 23 patients with congenital heart disease, and expression of TSLP in thymus Hassall's corpuscle was 18. 87 ±3. 06,the logistic regression analysis demonstrated that the expression of TSLP and the phenotype of Treg cells was linear correlated. Conclusion The expression level of TSLP in human thymus is related to the phenotype of the CD4 + CD25 + Foxp3 + Treg cells, and the increasing quantity of Treg cells in peripheral blood may depend on the higher level of TSLP expression.
