Neutron Diffraction Study on Microstructure of NdFe10.5 Mo1.5 at Different Temperatures

Abstract
The crystal and magnetic structure of NdFeio.5 M01.5 intermetallic compound was studied by neutron powder diffraction at room temperature and low temperature (77 K). The data were analyzed by the Rietveld method. The results of neutron diffraction indicate that the lattice parameter a increases and lattice parameter c decreases for NdFeio. 5 M01.5 compounds when the temperature decreases from room temperature to 77 K. The thermal expansion anomalies of NdFe10. sMoL5 could not be explained only by the Fe-Fe interatomic distances and the number of the nearest neighbors of Fe. This implies that not only the direct interaction of Fe-Fe contributes to the phenomenon, Nd-Fe and Nd-Nd indirect interaction also have a contribution to the thermal expansion anomalies.关键词
