Abstract
Objective To analyze the ultrasound image and evaluate its diagnostic value for superficial organ extranodal lymphoma. Methods The ultrasonograms of 24 patients with superficial organ extranodal lymphoma confirmed by surgical or core needle biopsy were analyzed retrospectively. Results There were 24 patients with extranodal lymphoma,including 3 cases of salivary glands,7 cases of thyroid,7 cases of breast,6 cases of testis and 1 case of penis, including lymphoma on both side for one case each of testis and breast lymphoma. Altogether there were 28 superficial organ extranodal lymphoma,including 3 of salivary glands ,7 of thyroid,8 of breast,7 of testis and 3 of penis.The ultrasonographic findings were classified as focal type in 19 lymphoma and diffuse type in 9 lymphoma. The gray scale imaging showed hypoechogenicity, marked hypoechogenicity and cystoid echogenecity. Posterior enhancement was observed in 22 lymphoma (78.6%). Color Doppler ultrasonography showed markedly increased vascularity in 23 lymphoma (82.1% ). Peripheral lymphadenopathy was noted in 9 lymphoma (32.1% ),tended to be round with marked hypoechogenecity. Conclusions The ultrasonogram of superficial organ extranodal lymphoma has characteristic appearance. Ultrasonography is a useful tool for the screening,diagnosis and following up of superficial organ extranodal lymphoma.关键词
