Expression of Ghrelin in Colorectal Carcinoma and Its Clinical Significance

Abstract
Objective:To study the levels of ghrelin in the serum and carcinoma tissues from colorectal carcinoma patients. Methods; A total of 40 patients with colorectal carcinoma at different stages have been enrolled (study group). At the same time, 40 people who were confirmed by electronic colonoscope not suffering from colorectal carcinoma have also been enrollec (control group). The levels of ghrelin in the serum and tissues were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbant assaj (ELISA). Results: The level of serum ghrelin had no significant difference between the study group and the control group, or among patients at different stages(Duke A, B, C and D). The ghrelin level in colorectal carcinoma tissues had negative correlation with the degree of tumor differentiation. Conclusions: The level of ghrelin in the serum has no correlation with the development of colorectal carcinoma, but the ghrelin level in the carcinoma tissues has negative correlation with the degree of differentiation in colorectal carcinoma.关键词
