Abstract
Objective:To investigate the feasibility of reducing the amount of blood transfusion in the perioperative period of cardiac surgery. Methods: A total of 104 patients undergoing aortic or mitral valve operations were randomly divided into 2 groups: study group(n = 52) and control group (n = 52). Integrated blood conservation measures were applied to the study group in the aspect of anesthesia, cardiopulmonary bypass, surgery and post-operation treatment. Those measures were not applied to the control group. Results: Thirty-six patients in the study group and 19 patients in the control group did not need blood transfusion during the perioperative period. The average amount of blood transfusion in the study group was 302. 9 mL, while that in the control group was 538. 9 mL. There was statistically significant difference in the rate of blood transfusion between the two groups(P＜0. 05). Conclusions: A lower rate of blood transfusion and a smaller amount of blood transfusion can be realized effectively by applying integrated blood conservation strategy and new transfusion criteria during the perioperative period of cardiac surgery.关键词
