摘要
Abstract
Objective To investigate the factors relating to root resorption after orthodontic treatment. Methods In this study,163 cases treated with fixed appliance were selected randomly. The relationship between root resorption after treatment (RRAT) and the variables including age, sex, extraction or nonextraction approach, tooth location, tooth movement patterns were analyzed by 2-Independent-Sample T test analysis. Results 1.There were statistically significant differences in root resorption in relation to age (estimate of RRAT for adults group: 0.45, that for children group: 0.33), extraction (estimate of RRAT for the extraction group:0.55, that for non -extraction: 0.39), anterior or posterior teeth (estimate of RRAT for the anterior teeth: 0,54, that for the posterior teeth: 0.29), tooth movement patterns (estimate of RRAT for the bodily movement: 0.32, that for the nonbodily movement: 0.46). 2.There were no statistically significant differences in root resorption in relation to gender (estimate of RRAT for the male: 0.36,that for the female: 0.37), upper or lower teeth (estimate of RRAT for the upper teeth group: 0.39,that for the lower teeth group: 0.40). Conclusion Age, extraction or not, anterior or posterior teeth and tooth movement patterns are important factors affecting root resorption after orthodontic treatment.关键词
