镍铬烤瓷与镀金镍铬烤瓷前牙修复体5年随机效果评价
A multicenter randomized 5-year clinical evaluation of restoration made of Ni-Cr porcelain-fused-to-metal with or without gold-plating for anterior teeth

Abstract
Objective To evaluate the 5-years clinical quality of gold-plating technique used in Ni-Cr metal ceramic restorations in anterior teeth in 3 units. Methods 268 teeth of 158 cases from 3 units were radonmaziedlly divided into two groups. 134 teeth of control group were restored with Ni-Cr metal ceramic crown, while 134 teeth in gold-plating group were treated with gold -plating technique on the Ni -Cr metal restorations.Gingival discoloration, bleeding on probing (BOP) were examined at baseline,3 months,6 month, 1 year,3 years and 5years after restoration cementation. Chisquare test was used for statistical analysis with software SPSS 18.0. Results Gingival discolorations were found in 3 cases of control group (2.24%), 1 case in gold-plating group (0.75%) at baseline, there was significant difference between 2 groups (P<0.05), while no probing bleeding was found in both groups. After 3 and 6 months,bleeding on probe was observed in one case of control group (0.75%),and no obvious change was found on gingival discoloration in 2 groups. 12 months later.significant difference was found between the two groups (15.6% vs 37.5%)(P<0.05).Gingival discolorations and BOP found in both groups were greater after 3 to 5 years follow-up (P<0.05),and there were statically different between control group and gold-plating group (P<0.05). Conclusion Within the limitations of this study.Gold-plating might be a good method in solving the problem of gingival discoloration in unprecious metal ceramic crown, but more gingival discoloration were found during long time usage.关键词
