Abstract
Objective To investigate the clinical incidence of the mesiobuccal root canal of maxillary first and second molars. Methods Incidence of the second mesiobuccal root canal of maxillary first and second molars was determined by using the modified access preparation and probing the fissure or grooves between the mesiobuccal and palatal canal orifices. Results Of the 574 maxillary first molars of 553 patients,356 of the molars had second mesiobuccal root canals.The incidence rate was 62.02%.Of the 637 maxillary first molars of 529 patients,294 of the molars had second mesiobuccal root canals.The incidence rate was 46.15%. Conclusion Identifying and treating the second mesiobuccal root canal in maxillary first and second molars is improved by modified access preparation and probing the fissure or groove between the mesiobuccal and palatal canal orifices.关键词
