Impact of Essential Medicine System on Antibiotics Use: A Meta analysis

Abstract
Objective To review the impact of essential medicine system (EMS) on antibiotics use in China. Methods Studies on antibiotics use before and after the implementation of EMS in China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) and VIP Full-text Database (VIP) were searched and analyzed. Meta analysis was conducted using RveMan 4. 2. Sensitivity analysis was conducted to the results and publication bias was checked by funnel plot. Results A total of 16 articles were analyzed in the study. The random effect model showed the overall effect size OR = 0. 74 with 95% CI (0. 57, 0. 94, P < 0. 05. The funnel plot suggested little publication bias. Conclusion The implementation of EMS has reduced the use of antibiotics to some extent.关键词
