摘要

Abstract

A Biofilm Electrode Reactor was operated to remove the nitrate contamination in the simulated groundwater. The effects of temperature, influent pH, hydraulic retention time(HRT)and current on the denitrification of BER system was investigated. The results showed that the reactor could be successfully started up within about 20 days; the formation of biofilm on the surface of cathode was confirmed by scanning electron microscope; nitrate removal efficiency increased with the temperature range from 13. 6 ℃ to 34, 0 ℃ ;BER has strong buffering capacity on the shock of influent pH, and nitrate removal efficiency kept above 85% from pH 6. 25~8. 27; the optimal HRT was 9h, at which the nitrate removal efficiency was over 85% ; the nitrate removal efficiency first increased and then kept stable with the current ranged from 13 mA to 102 mA, more than 85% of nitrate can be removed under applied current (78-102 mA) , and without accumulation of nitrite. The consumption of anode will be accelerated at higher current.
