Abstract
Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy on treating sequelae of apoplexy with acupuncture and abdominal massage therapy. Methods:60 patients with sequelae of apoplexy were randomly divided into treatment and control groups. 30 patients in treatment group were treated with combination of traditional acupuncture and abdominal massage; 30 patients in control group were treated with traditional acupuncture. 10 times'treat-ments were as one course. The clinical efficacy of both groups were observed after three treatment courses. Re-Sults:The significant progress rates in treatment group and control group were 60% and 10% respectively. Comparison of significant progress rates between the two groups showed a statistical significance ( P < 0. 01 ). Conclusion : Using the combination of acupuncture and abdominal massage on treating sequelae of apoplexy is better than pure acupuncture treatment. It is worthy of clinical promotion.
