摘要

Abstract

A charge controller for solar LED lighting system was designed. The proposed charging method not only uses the maximum power point tracking (MPPT) scheme, but also satisfies the requirement of the storage battery's voltage limit and float charging characteristic. Experimental system was built, and tested results show that the charge controller can be switched precisely to work in the MPPT charging status, the constant voltage status, or the float charging status according to the status of battery. Compared with constant voltage status, the efficiency of MPPT status increased about 16%. The charge controllers not only achieved the effective use of solar energy, but also extend battery life.
