摘要

Abstract

Sodium pyrophosphate was adopted to modify attapulgite clay via high-pressure homogenization technology. The effects of homogenization pressure and the concentration of sodium pyrophosphate on the viscosity of attapulgite clay were investigated. The microstructures of attapulgite clay were characterized by FTIR, XRD and SEM techniques, and BET、XRF and Zeta potential of modified attapulgite clay were determined. Results show that high-pressure homogenization process can significantly affected the physical and chemical properties of attapulgite clay. The attapulgite clay modified under the optimal sodium pyrophosphate dosage of 0. 5wt% and homogenization pressure at 20 MPa exhibit the highest viscosity. Compared with the unhomogenization sample, the viscosity of the attapulgite clay was increased by 38%.
