Synthesis and Growth Mechanism of Al3(SO4)2(OH)5H2O and α-Al2O3 Whiskers
摘要
Abstract
The Al3 (SO4)2 (OH)5H2O and a-Al2O3 whiskers were synthesized by liquid precipitation reaction and sintering methods process. The phase, granularity, structure of crystal morphology of whiskers samples were characterized by X-ray difraction(XRD) , scanning electron microscop ( SEM) and thermal analysis ( TG-DTA). The SEM reveales that the whiskers form with fine dispersive capability and the crystal form, good whisker qulity, as well as smooth suiface and that the distribution of particle size is uniformity. From the point of growth units, the growth mechanism of Al3 ( SO4 )2 ( OH)5H2O whisker is investigated in this paper. The growth units of Al3 (SO4 )2(OH)5H2O whisker is [A1-(OH)6]3-, The growth process of whisker is as follows:[Al-(OH)6]3- and HSO4- piles up towards one-dimensional direction and eventually forms whiskers. After thermal decomposition, the morphology of the same, Al3 (SO4)2(OH)5H2O whiskers eventually became the α-Al2O3 whiskers.关键词
