Pluralism and Tolerance in Christianity: From the View of Christianity's Promoting Effect to the Development of Science

Abstract
In the traditional way, Christianity and science are considered as opposite to each other. This article attempts to break out of this basic antagonistic view and explore the pluralistic characteristics of Christianity in the two aspects of social history and ideological connotations, and the spirit of freedom and tolerance of Christianity, as well as its role played in pro- moting scientific development, and to reveal the thought of religious tolerance contained in Christianity as a form of civilization.关键词
