Study on electrophoretic co-deposition of ultrafine diamond/glass composite coatings

Abstract
Ultrafine diamond/glass composite coatings were prepared by electrophoretic co-deposition. Electrophoretic deposition parameters and solidification sintering conditions were mainly discussed. Diamond particles were negatively charged in ethanol and moved towards the anode in the applied electric field. Current changes and surface morphologies observation results indicated that uniform and even coatings were obtained with applied voltages of 30 -50 V. By adding metal cation with the mass fraction of 0.05% ~0. 10% , cathode deposition could be realized, which was beneficial to the choice of substrate by avoiding the anode corrosion. The optimized sintering temperature and reaction time of the composite coating were around 450 ° C and 3 h, respectively. The sintered coating was very smooth and compact with diamond particles homogeneously dispersed in the bond.关键词
