摘要

Abstract

Objective To explore the impact of simvastatin on brachial-ankle pulse wave (baPWV) velocity and carotid intima-media thickness (IMT)in hypertension patients combined with carotid atherosclerosis. Methods A total of 120 hypertension patients complicated by atherosclerosis were divided into simvastatin group ( n = 60) and control group ( n — 60 ). Both groups sustained original plan on hypertension, and the treatment group received additional simvastatin therapy on original plan. The changing of blood lipid, IMT, baPWV pretherapy and postther-aphy were observed. Results Compared with pretherapy, TC, TG and LDL-C level were significantly decreased in simvastatin group (P < 0.01), and HDL level was significantly increased. After treatment, TC, TG and LDL-C level were significantly lower in simvastatin group than in the control group (P<0.01) . HDL level in simvastatin group was higher than in the control group (P< 0.01). Compared with pretherapy, baPWV level decreased in both groups, and IMT level significantly lessened in simvastatin group (P<0.01). Compared with posttherapy control group, IMT and bPWV level of simvastatin increased significantly (P<0. 01). Conclusion Lessening IMT level and baPWV to prevent atherosclerosis and simvastatin can significantly decrease the blood lipid level.
