Abstract

As one of the biggest energy consumers of the world, China is also a large agricultural country, whose bioenergy occupies a larger proportion in rural energy system. Emission factor method is applied in this study to estimate CO2 emission by rural bioenergy utilization of each province (municipality/autonomous region) in 2010. Tool of Arc GIS is used to make spatial analysis of the estimation results. By the method of spatial statistics, researches on the spatial autocorrelations of regional carbon emission are conducted with application of Geoda software. It is concluded that CO2 emissions by bioenergy utilization are mainly contributed by straw and firewood, with a smaller proportion in biogas aspects. The total emissions show the distribution characteristic is high in the central and southwest area, and low in the southern and southeastern areas.
