Design and Simulation of a Novel Random Row-column Cyclic Shift Interleaver

Abstract
A novel random row-column cyclic shift interleaver is designed based on block interleavers and random interleavers. Numerical simulation results show that, at the same conditions, the bit error rate ( BER) performance of the novel interleaver is superior to that of block interleavers, normal row-column cyclic shift interleaver and random interleavers, and approaches to that of quadratic permutation polynomial (QPP) interleavers, where QPP interleavers are used in the channel coding scheme of next generation mobile communication systems. The new design of the interleaver requires less memory hardware. Therefore, it can be generalized to the practical application after further optimization.关键词
